Ack my old wet ram, Andy, Chris, there is/was a problem printing it for your record keeping. I personally haven't used it, tending to have a tendency to do what could be CL stuff in hal. I can't recall anything else but I've seen that warning someplace in the docs since about 2.4, so it looks like it goes back quite a while. With hal, CL seems sorta 1950's to me. The fact that in all this time, I don't recall anyone complaining does lend some evidence that it could probably be dropped. Or at least the possibility discussed just to see whose ox gets gored and screams. OTOH, if its the printing, and it could be easily fixed, I could use it to complete the documentation of my own machines.
