In the servo tuning tutorial is some information iirc...

But yes, Userdoc is quite spare on all things...

I am trying to help a guy do servo tuning.  Now, he has motion, and needs to do the PID tuning. I am trying to get him up to speed on HalScope, but I can't find any documents on using it! The only thing I can find is an old Machinekit tutorial (that actually is not bad) but there OUGHT to be a few pages of tutorial in the LinuxCNC docs, at least.  I looked all over, but did not find anything about USING HalScope.

Thanks,

Jon
There is another place that is seriously short of help, to the point I feel its unusable. ATPID now just called PID. It doesn't arrive at a stable setting but hunts and oscillates until it has destroyed the servo motor.  Smoked 2 so far here. And I have found a truly excellent work-a-round that has me slowly converting my machines to no PID at all, but much higher voltage (72 volts and up) closed loop stepper/servo's, as they do exactly as the TP tells them to do and if they can't, causing a home loss, they can stop linuxcnc fast enough the part isn't damaged. Conversion is slow (me to blame as I'm 90 and running out of both time and giddyup) but the Sheldon lathe is completed, and my 6040 gantry mill now has the two problem axis's converted as I learn how. And stuff to convert my go704's first 3 axis's is on the floor behind this chair waiting for me to find my round tuit. One 3d printer is converted, runs 10x faster, more accurately and another printer using these motors, even bigger is under construction.  The state of the art moves on folks.  Get these magic high voltage motors and drivers from Hanpose, Chinese of course..
