This bill has been "Referred to Committee on Civil Rights & Judiciary". It will almost certainly stay "in committee" forever. In the US, crazy things are proposed all the time, and referring them to a committee for review is the mechanism by which they are stopped (generally...). Crazy ideas ARE passed into law occasionally, but this is a good sign so far!
