Hi All:

I've been following the questions about the Harmonics (IEC 1000-3-2) and since I
work in an EMC lab I thought I'd share some experiences. I have found that the
IEC 1000 is very hard to meet without some form of PFC, I've had several
customers with switchers operating between 75-100watts input power that failed
miserably.

We have also heard that there has been a meeting between the Association Of
Competant Bodies and the Commission to resolve the Amendment 12 issue and it now
appears that the Amendment will be listed in the OJ in the near future. This
will make the 1000-3-2 requirements mandatory in June of 1998.

Anybody else have some experience with non-pfc designs passing/failing the new
requirements??
