 Wow, a long - long - LONG time ago... I might recall 
that it was British (British Electrotechnical Approvals 
Board), and may have had something to do with spec's or 
approvals of (at least) primary power components (ie: 
line cords, xfmrs, switches, fuses, etc.)??  Try, the 
only number I have handy: 44-932-24-44-01.
