Andy,
ISO 7779 and ANSI S12.10 are two standards that I use for the test
procedures/methods for acoustic measurements for ITE type equipment.

I have been using a Swedish standard (The Swedish Agency for Administrative
Development, Statskontoret's Technical Standard 26:2) and various vendor
internal standards for the "acoustic limits" and "declaration of emissions
values".

Also, on the ISO web site, I found "ISO 3740:1980 Acoustics -- Determination of
sound power levels of noise sources -- Guidelines for the use of basic
standards and for the preparation of noise test codes."

Maybe some of these documents will prove helpful to you.

Subject: Acoustics Standards - Help
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good Afternoon,

I am in the process of developing an internal design standard for acoustical
noise limits on medical laboratory equipment.
Could anyone please post any information regarding any existing standards
(IEC, UL, EN, even OSHA)? Your help would
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
