Hi Terry:

Be careful with the colors green, green/yellow, and yellow.

All three colors are reserved for safety-earth wiring:

    Green: North America
    Yellow: Europe
    Green/yellow: International (compromise)

You can use these colors within your equipment where you
don't interface with the outside world, and where the wires
are clearly not used for safety-earth wiring.

Do not use these colors for signal earthing. This is because
the circuit would then need to meet the constructional and
performance requirements for safety-earthing. (By definition,
such colors are reserved for safety-earthing; any wiring using
these colors is therefore safety-earth wiring and the circuits
must comply with safety-earthing requirements.)

Also, be aware of the following uses:

    Brown: Live (Europe)
    Black: Live (North America)
    Blue: Neutral (Europe)
    White: Neutral (North America)

The same advice applies: Don't use these colors where they
could be confused with building mains wires.

Best regards,
Rich
