It's been pretty clear from the initial implementation of the CE marking
scheme which is based on the Manufacturer's Declaration of Conformity that one
of the key elements would be that, upon request, manufacturer's would have to
provide their support information in a timely way. A key comment heard from the
beginning is that it would be short enough so that there would not be time to
generate the required documentation after the request was issued... perhaps a
few days to fax the MDoC or a week to ten days to copy and overnite a detailed
report... this is not unreasonable... so, have your paperwork in order before
you apply the CE marking and sign off the MDoC...
