Someone wrote: Beyond the standard requirements for power disconnect mechanical interlocks, is anyone aware of any current or proposed domestic or international standards requiring the use of safety interlocks (electrical or mechanical) on electrical control panel doors? --------------- I started to respond directly to Bob Andres but after writing the below, it seemed to me that others could benefit from the below contact. I just got back from the Gulf Coast ASSE mtg where a representative of EE Controls gave an impressive presentation on equipment guarding interlocks, regulations, industry standards and state-of-the-art interlocks. They do seminars at your facility and since he can't be everywhere at the same time, he has a video of his seminar. If equipment guarding is relevant to your operations you really should contact EEC. The presentation was an educational seminar that, at the same time, was a sales job because he was developing a demand for his type of product by educating you about the regulations, liability, risks, applications, state-of-the-art, etc. and using his products as examples. In summary, I'll bet they'd be happy to answer your questions, send you an information packet and sell you something. Their number is: Mike (I don't remember his last name) V.P.
