The original:
"The Blue Angel" was a movie made in 1930 (German Production) directed
by Josef von Sternberg starring Marlene Dietrich and Emil Jannings.
This classic film has Jannings as a stuffy professor who falls blindly
in love with cabaret entertainer Lola-Lola (Dietrich), who ruins his
life. Dietrich introduces "Falling in Love Again" and this role made
her an international star. Robert Liebman wrote the script from
Heinrich Mann's novel "Professor Unrath".
The remake:
"The Blue Angel" made in 1959 directed by Edward Dmytryk starring Curt
Jurgens and May Britt (she was once married to Sammy Davis, Jr.).
This movie is often referred to as "the disastrous remake" of the
classic "Blue Angel".
