Dear Patrick,
The copy you have is still right. In Europe this standard has been
harmonized as EN60601-1-2 (1993) and is used for conformity with
89/336/EEC EMC Directive requirements.
On July 1996 a Committe Draft was circulated, referenced as 62A/206/CD,
in order to produce a second edition of the standard.
In this CD one can read:
"36.201.3.1 Harmonic distortion
a) Requirement:
Equipment and/or systems with a rated input current up to and including
16A per phase and intended to be connected to the public mains network
shall comply with the applicable limits contained in IEC 1000-3-2.
b) Test Methid:
The test methods and test equipment described in IEC 1000-3-2 applay."

This CD is still under study: it should not be used for reference
purposes. Just to make you feel the situation.

Ciao
M.P.
