Austel require a NATA or NATA MRA partner report from an Austel listed test house, for compliance against AS/NZS3548 (CISPR22). The EMC Framework as set down by the SMA, which will take over from Austel when Austel merge with the SMA in July this year (to be known as the ACA, Australian Communications Authority) requires mandatory NATA testing of Telecommunications & Group II ISM products.
THe SMA suggest that a NATA or MRA partner report for other items such as domestic applicances would result in low level scrutiny of the respective compliance folder, whereas an inhouse or non accredited report would be subject to close scrutiny, with any doubts resulting in the requirement for a NATA test report.
