I am looking for current information on required safety certification
for product entering Argentina. The information that I currently have
indicates that as of 8/15/98 all electrical products are required to be
provided with a Declaration of Conformity to the appropriate IEC
standard(s). This form of compliance verification would be in affect
until a more structured system was developed, and implemented, hopefully
within a year.

I have been told by our customer that this is not the case. They are
informing me that we must show compliance with IEC 28,which I have never
even heard of. We are producing small power supplies and battery
chargers for use with cellular phones. Our current evaluations are done
to UL 1950, IEC 950, and some to EN60335-2-29.

Any information on the current procedures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
