The idea of banning Class III laser pointers does sound amusing or ridiculous, at first. But realize that the first tissues to be damaged are optic. Light which cannot be felt on the skin can damage retinas, or initiate degeneration in the lens and hasten the development of cataracts. That's not a worthwhile risk.
