Moshe,

We handled this issue in the following manner:

Emergency Switches had the yellow background with EMO written it black
bold letters. (Red mushroom button of course)

The mains switch was marked with a 0 / 1, with lockable / tagable
     capabilities.

We used 60204 and SEMI S2-93A to address this for our European and
     domestic customers.

     Regards,

Hello everone,

I have a question related to products under the machinery directive:

We have a mains switch and an emergency switch on a machine. The testing agency
insists these
should be marked in words near the switches. (Of course that would be a differen
t marking in
every geopgraphical location depending on the local language)

This requirement is obviously a problem, and we are not sure it is well founded.
 We would much
rather settle for an "icon" type of marking or no marking (i.e. the emergency sw
itch is
obviously a red "mushroom" type)

Please comment on this from your knowledge and experience

thanks and happy holidays

Moshe
