The current draft of the proposed European Union Directive on Waste and End-of-life Electronic Equipment calls for the phase-out of the use of halogenated flame retardants by January 1, 2004. Are there currently any alternative wire and cable constructions that comply with UL and NEC flame requirements without the use of halogenated flame retardants?
