The E7400 series seems to be an update to the 8590 series, a unit that's been around for 4+ years. H/P is encouraging customers to buy the E7400 series instead of the 8590 instruments. I've been using the 8591EM for several years now with good results. We're going to buy another analyzer, and it will probably be an E7401A. Unfortunately, it's taken me over 3 months just to get a demo unit.
