Brian, I've been receiving a lot of helpful information from this Forum over the years, so I thought I'd try to return the favor.
Here are some "after-market product" Car Audio Amplifier requirements, that I collected along the way: Domestic: SAE-J1113 (August 1987) Electromagnetic Susceptibility Procedures for Vehicle Components SAE-J1455 (1988-01) Recommended Environmental Practices for Electronic Equip. HS-3600 (1997 Edition) Surface Vehicle EMC Standards Manual International: EN55022 Emissions (Radiated & Conducted) EN 61000-4-2 ESD EN 61000-4-3 RFI EN 61000-4-6 CRFI The above list may not be complete, but at least it will get you started. If you are selling "directly" to an automotive manufacturer, then you will have to contact them and find out the requirements. I heard they have their own "extended" set of own regulations. I ordered my standards from Conformity (978) 486-0888.
