Good Day All: I am hoping that some of you may be able to help me identify a thin insulating material for a particular application.
I am looking for a coating for the exterior of a hand-held product which has a metallic case, so the material will need to be quite durable. The material would have to provide 1500 V dielectric strength. This material would preferably be UL Recognized, but not necessarily. (Note this is not for reinforced insulation under 950/1950 requirements, there is no minimum thickness.) I am not looking for an adhesive backed plastic, nor am I looking for a polyurethane boot or glove. Is there any such thing as an epoxy based paint, or a Teflon dipped coating which could be used here ? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Feel free to respond through this forum or directly to me at the email address below. Thanks in advance, Richard Payne MBD Product Safety Engineering Tektronix, Inc.
