The IEEE EMC Society TC8 currently needs a new Webmaster and Newsletter Editor for our website http://www.ewh.ieee.org/soc/emcs/pstc/index.htm. We are looking for someone to keep the page up to date and help us continue to promote the TC8 committee and the emc-pstc. This need comes about as Roger Volgstadt has resigned the position after a number of years of doing an outstanding job with the newsletter.
Short History of the Newsletter, website and the emc-pstc list: The Newsletter was first publish in March of 1985 and included a Chairman's Message and a Chapter Activity report. Soon after that first edition, Rich Nute started to write the Technically Speaking column in it. In 15 years of publication, it peaked at around 1100 copies, sent out every other month. In about November of 1998, with a tiring staff and shortage of income from Institutional Listings, it was decided to stop mailing hard copies and start a web-based publication. In December of 1996 Roger Volgstadt started this list server to assist in emc and safety issues. I would also take this opportunity to thank Roger Volgstadt for his many years as editor of the TC8 Newsletter and his creation of this list server. Note: There are others who also played a part in the Newsletter, such as Pete Perkins, Lal Bahra, Paul Hill, Richard Tennant, Ken Warwick, John McBain, Dave Lorusso, Brian Claes, Ron Baugh, and Rich Pescatore.
