Luciana,

Your English is OK!  A "choke" is merely another way of saying
inductor.  As you seem to know, this is usually some kind of wiring
around a ferrous metal component, e.g. transformers, or inductors
used in series to suppress high frequencies from passing.

Hey Folks:

I´m a beginner at the list (and the subject) and I have a doubt about
the translation of the word "choke" into portuguese, and also about if
is there any formal (scientific) method of designing one, maybe one of
the members could help me.  I´m sorry about the bad english.
