I ran across this workshop announcement and thought it would be beneficial to TREG and IEEE members making transmitters. SAR/MPE (specific absorption rate/maximum permissible exposure) is always an issue for any kind of transmitters, since the FCC requires different tests for different applications (fixed, mobile or portable applications). It is not always easy to measure and so far most test houses are keeping the knowledge to themselves (understandably). Perhaps H&H Enterprises can dispel the myth of SAR testing for those of us not so skilled in the art. Looks like we will have hands-on training at the University of Utah's SAR lab with the well-known Dr. Gandhi. Because of the file size limit, I cannot attach the file to this message, but you can go to : http://www.telecom-info-services.com/sarad.pdf to download it.
