Thanks for the response.  Our original design called for separate circuits,
but for a variety of reasons, we decided to go with the single 100 A input.
Since I had never seen it before, I thought I'd ask if anyone in this forum
ever had.

After discussing your problem with our telecoms expert, this is what he has
to say:

"The best solution for such a high power consumption unit is to split the
power into 2 or 3 terminal blocks. This means you protect each terminal
block with a separate breaker that complies with currents that the standard
requires. You have to realize that it is not practical to require the CO/(or
any other client) to upgrade the wiring for you and provide you with one
wire with all the needed power. Therefore you use the existing wires within
the CO/client"

Your best bet is to use components that have been previously evaluated for
field wiring, such as a UL Recognized terminal block for the + and - and a
UL Listed pressure terminal connector for the protective earthing terminal;
of course both have to be suitable for the 100 A  and the wire gauge
anticipated in the field.  This way, you satisfy the North American
component requirements and because there is no limit in the standard for a
100 A rating, most European and other worldwide test houses are likely to
accept the US evaluated component.

I'm in the process of specifying field wiring terminals for a -48Vdc
product
that's rated 100A.  Table 3E in 60950 only specifies sizes up to 63 A. 
Does
anyone know how I go about sizing a terminal for the higher current?
