Clause 8 indicates that the field strength shall be checked by placing the field sensor at a calibration grid point . . .
We have had a bad cable before. This is one way to be sure that every element -- generator, directional coupler, cables, power amplifier and antenna are connected correctly and functioning properly. Besides being called for in the standard, it is a good practice.
