Cecil, When thinking of EMI guard band (margins), I put the following into mind: 1. variation in production (a couple of dB) 2. uncertainly during measurements (5-6 dB at lower frequencies like 30MHz) 3. variation from labs to labs (I don't know ....4-6 dB ?? )
I think 6-8dB should give you a good feeling.
