According to a well known German safety agency, there are no normative EU or German national acoustic limits for ITE. The 3rd GS Ordinance on product safety includes the requirements of the LVD and Machinery Directive, but the requirement for acoustic noise is understood to apply only to machinery. Even then, the requirment is to document the level in the manual, and no maximum levels are specified. There are German ocupational regulations that apply to the workplace environment, but those limits are for the work locations where the noise can originate at many sources.
Does anyone else any input on ITE?
