Hi Everyone, The Annex of the proposed ROHS Directive exempts (among other things) the following from the requirements set out in Article 4(1):-
"Lead in...electronic components" "Lead in solder for network infrastructure equipment for switching, signalling, transmission as well as network management for telecommunication." So I understand from the above that a piece of telecom equipment which is considered part of the network doesn't have to comply with the requirements of this Directive by 1 July 2006, as far as lead in electronic components and solder is concerned. However, the Annex goes on to say that lead in solder for network infrastructure equipment should be evaluated by the Commission as a matter of priority, with a view to setting a specific time limit for this exemption. Does anyone know of any such discussions regarding an applicable compliance timeframe? Thanks in advance, Dave --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful.
