Ian, As, I understand it, depending on which Annex Table you are using (A, B or C), Annex A only requires testing of I/O cables, line to ground(note 2) and (note 3) if that cable falls into the category of a long distant cables(see 3.6, -cables over 30 M or which leaves the building). Annex B, not required and Annex C, N/A. There is no distinction between shielded or unshielded cables except for the testing method in 61000-4-5. Regards, Charlie Martin

We have carried out the direct injection of mains ports, and unscreened cables and that is understood. What l am getting confused with is the need to test screened cables. I far as l understand there is no need to test the screen, but does this mean l don't have to carrying out surge testing on screened cables. Thanks for your help inadvance.
