It's at the CDV stage, but the document hasn't yet gone out to National
Committees. I rather doubt that USA will adopt it; they seem to be quite
happy with IEEE 519.

The last I heard from the Japanese experts involved suggests to me that
it is unlikely to be true. They might have issued it as a 'trial
standard', but the Japanese distribution system is different from the
European systems on which the standard is based, and may be more
tolerant of harmonics.
