I normally work under the assumption that all UK military equipment, unless it's "armament", should be CE-marked for EMC. IIRC under the UK legislation military equipment means apparatus which is designed for use as arms, munitions and war materiel, as defined in article 223.1(b) of the Treaty of Rome, and only this is excluded from the scope of the UK's EMC regulations. By implication all other UK "military" equipment has to meet the EMC Directive and be CE-marked. Even Parts 1 & 2 of DEF STAN 59-41 said "equipment shall meet any UK legislation". This, to me at least, implies that the Ministry of Defence want all military equipment to be CE-marked, legislation saying otherwise or not! Part 3 of DEF STAN 59-41 being invoked is another matter of course - it calls for tests which exceed the commercial standards in many cases (it's the UK equivalent to MIL-STD 461), so whether CE-marking is present or not becomes irrelevant.
