this can be calculated (I can send you the formulas) or simulated with NEC. If
you give me dimensions of a "typical" house wiring antenna I can run some
simulations and see how the e-field goes. As far as a real test, you can drive
some RF into an AC socket and take field strength measurements. One way or the
other, when you are >1/2 wavelength from the building you will be in the 1/r
region.
That is, unless you are near the power feed to the house, or you are near the
driveway lights, or you are near the cable TV coax lines, or.....
