Irrespective of intent or regulations, some CPE
manufacturers that submitted to UL in the early '90s for
certification using UL1459, 2nd ed., had products that used
coax connectors and those connectors were identified *by the
manufacturer* for connection to exposed plant leads.

Robert Johnson's response also indicated such an intended
use, though for only a limited exposure distance.

My point was only that one must not assume, based on a
connector form factor used for more than one application,
that any specific circuit type exists at that connector.

8-pin modular jacks are another good example.
