Kristiaan,
Paragraph 4.7.2.1 (really all of section 4) is important reading and
will help define this for you. It lists parts that require fire enclosures
and which do not. But be careful the fifth dashed item under 4.7.2.2 tells
only part of the answer.
4.7.2.2 Parts not requiring a fire enclosure.
- other components in SECONDARY Circuits supplied by limited power
sources complying with 2.5 and mounted on materials of Flammability Class
V-1.
These is typically components on a printed circuit card - but what
it does say is that the printed circuit card must be between the parts and
any openings. So horizontally you could be fine, if the components are all
on the top side, but as soon as you mount it vertically the V1 barrier is
gone and the openings need to be appropriate for side or bottom, which ever.
