I am having a difficult time finding a cost effective solution for an industrial control application that requires fusing the secondary of a power supply (24 VDC, 10 A). A couple issues that I have are:
1) The solution would need to be DIN rail mountable. 2) The solution would need to satisfy both UL requirements (UL 508A) and international/EU requirements. UL requires fuses used in a DC circuit to be evaluated/rated for DC. 3) From my understanding, supplemental fusing (i.e., 5x20mm, 1/4x1 1/4", etc.) is not accepted in the EU for anything over 6.3 A which seems to rule out this type of fusing (someone correct me if I am wrong here). 4) Blade style fuses (automotive), are becoming more popular in industrial applications however, from a UL perspective, they need to be added to the manufacturer's File in order for them to be allowed. Does anyone have any possible solution recommendations?
