In order to obtain an USCG approval, you have to carry out a number of different environmental test successfully. ( ....many other requirements to fulfil .....)
Vibration: USCG says: Make a sine sweep between 5Hz and 100Hz, and you are not allowed to have resonance's (amplification factors) greater than 5. ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), LR (Lloyd's Register), DNV (Det Norske Veritas) and all the other major classification societies operates with maximum amplification factor of 10. Question: Have anybody of you been through an USCG approval procedures and can conform that USCG really operates with an amplification factor of 5?
