It has obviously been withdrawn at some time since. However, BSonline will still sell it to you for 80 pounds. Given the title, you would not think it the originating spec. for such mechanical requirements. Although I do seem to recall that the British finger predated any IEC inclusion of it. 6305 was strictly PTT. I believe it did originate in a British Safety spec. I was told at the time it represented the average British "pinky" finger. I don't recall what spec. it was we tested to at the time (it may have been BS 6305, or was it BS 6301?), but I would say it was sometime from 1982-1987 that the articulated finger rose to prominence and eventually into global standards.
