I HOPED that IEC TC34 would deal with this, so that the Machinery Directive need not apply. But they didn't do anything as far as I know. IEC TC108 is writing a new standard for multimedia equipment, including a lot on mechanical hazards, but it doesn't look as though it will be directly applicable to moving lights. -- Regards, John Woodgate, OOO - Own Opinions Only.
