There is the body capacitance of about 100 pF having a reactance of 27 M at 60 Hz. Connected to a 120 VAC source there will be 4.5 uA RMS current. Not much. If contact is made at the peak of the waveform (170 V) there will be charging current essentially identical to a 170 volt ESD event. The peak current will be around 1/2 amp for around 5 ns. I don't know that one can feel that. I can measure this if anyone wants me to.

And most things are a bit moist (except in Arizona, of course, where even the water is dry, or so I am reliably informed), so there may not be as much insulation resistance as appears at first sight. -- Regards, John Woodgate, OOO - Own Opinions Only.
