Hello Doug The OJ uses a somewhat convoluted format to communicate the date on which a standard is no longer harmonised. 1 August 2003 is the date on which the previous revision of the standard expired.
Thus, EN 60950:1992 and its amendments remains harmonised and good for use, in the context of the Low Voltage Directive, until 01/01/2005. On that date, it will be superceded by EN 60950:2000. This in turn will be superceded by EN 60950-1 on 01/07/2006. Of course, all three variants can be used today. Regards Peter. -----Original Message----- From: Doug Beckwith [ <mailto:[email protected]> mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 20 December 2004 14:16 To: Jasmine TAN; [email protected] Subject: Re: Enquiry on Standard Expiry Hi Jasmine, The exipry dates for presumption of conformity are in the OJ ( <http://europa.eu.int/comm/enterpris /newapproach/standardization/harmstds/reflist/lvd.html> http://europa.eu.int/comm/enterprise/ne approach/standardization/harmstds/reflist/lvd.html) EN 60950:1992(IEC60950:1991, 3rd edition + EU deviations) expired on 1 August 2003. You should be using either EN 60950:2000 (IEC 600950(1999+ EU deviations) or EN 60950-1:2001 (IEC 60950-1:2001 + EU deviations).
