I'm not sure if the precise model is still being built, but I have been very
happy for over ten years with my Wayne Kerr - Farnell PSG1000, which covers 10
kHz to 1 GHz, around $5K, I believe, with 10 dBm maximum output.  It has
built-in amplitude and frequency modulation, and a modulation port for
external sources.  I have put a square wave into it before for MIL-STD-461E
pulse modulation, but you are really amplitude modulating the waveform.  That
is, true pulse modulation acts like a switch in series with the rf output,
whereas amplitude modulation increases the peak amplitude, and you have to
account for that.  On the other hand, it is hard to find signal sources down
to 10 kHz with pulse modulation capability.

Hi Folks,

I'm looking to set up a dedicated test station for Conducted Immunity testing.
I want the station to perform CS114, DO 160 Section 20 and also EN 61000-4-6

I'm looking for a sig gen that can source a signal from 10 kHz to 400 MHz, and
be capable of both AM and Pulse modulation.

Anyone care to share their opinion on makes and models. Off line is fine.
Right now, I'm tending to an R&S SMY02, but with  a 2 GHz top end, it seems
overkill.
