Hello,

We don't do routine OATS evaluation of stand-alone ITE products
(other than items integrated in to our products,) so pardon my
ignorance or poorly thought out questions.

I have a couple of 8 port gigabit network switches I would like to
evaluate on the OATS. ANSI C63.4-2003 gives me some guidance
in this area, such as "each I/O port being terminated in typical load
of actual usage."

What kind of a circuit would I used for IEEE 802.3AB load? I am
thinking transformer (?) passive, but placed where??? Directly
plugged into the 8 port switch or placed on the end of short (length?)
Ethernet cable? If I use short cables, how do I not create 8 small
horizontal antennas 1 meter high? Comments?

Regards,

Dave Garnier
