Hi everybody,
I guess this is more of a safety thing, but I am sure that
somebody here can help me out. I am interested in finding out what kind
of test standards are used for devices that are designed to be placed in
an automobile. More specifically, I am interested in what standards
might apply for a device that sits on the passenger seat or on the floor
of the automobile.
At what size/weight is it recommended to mount the device rather
than just placing it on the floor or seat? What crash testing standards
apply to such mounting? What other requirements may exist for
electronic equipment that is meant to be used in an automobile, but not
sold with one?
