Ian, The scope of EN 50336:2003 states that the methods of evaluation also apply to "appliances not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be accessible to the general public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms."
It doesn’t specifically list light industrial equipment in Table A.1 which gives guidance on measuring distances, coupling factors, sensor locations for different individual types of domestic appliances (such as Coffee makers, coffee mills, convector heaters….and so on) but there is a catch-all entry at the top of the table named ‘Appliances not mentioned in the table’ which details the following; Measuring distance – Operator distance Sensor locations – All surfaces Operating conditions – As specified in the relevant part of EN60335 Coupling factor – See Annex C I'm not aware of a light industry equivalent spec but if there were then it should stem from 1999/519/EC (as EN50336 does). EN50366:2003 covers "Household and similar appliances" and covers EMC subjects like Electromagnetic fields and methods for evaluation and measurement. Electrical appliances that exceed the emission limits will no longer comply with the LCD Directive.
