Does anyone know if a programmable thermostat (hangs on wall in a home) falls under Part 15 of the FCC. I believe that it has a microcontroller in it (not sure of the frequency)? Generally, any digital device contained in an appliance is exempt (including heating systems and air conditioners) but this device is external to the appliance. It also connects to the power mains through a transformer (120 volt to 25 volt).
