A PC is a PC no matter what you use it with, even if it is part of a
category 8 or 9 system. Therefore, RoHS applies to IT Equipment no matter
what you sell it with.

Subject: RoHS for Exempt Equipment Peripherals

Greetings,

Our products fall under Category 8 & 9 of Annex 1A of the WEEE Directive.
At this time Categories 8 & 9 are exempt from the RoHS Directive. However,
we ship computers, scanners, routers, power cords, etc with our equipment.
Sometimes these peripherals may be shipped separately from the main
equipment.

Questions:

Do these peripherals need to be RoHS compliant?
Is the requirement different if the peripherals are shipped with the main
equipment or separate?
What supporting documentation must be shipped if the peripherals are exempt?
Is there a specific section of the Directive or Guidance Documents that
explains this situation?

All responses are greatly appreciated.

Regards
