Howdy! Howdy! Howdy! Happy Friday.
It has been well aired that BSMI now has product safety requirements for certain products. Perhaps less aired, but still widely known, BSMI is willing to accept CB Scheme Certificates and Test Reports issued by NCBs that have troubled to register with BSMI. See: http://web-server.bsmi.gov.tw/english/law/gov-guid.doc Paragraph 3 of the above referenced document indicates that samples *might* be requested by the 'domestic' lab reviewing the CB documents, if they have any question about the compliance status of the product under submittal for certification. Samples are *required* for the submittal. We have a consultant advising us that, not only is safety a part of the applicable BSMI requirements, but that a sample is explicitly required for review by the 'domestic' lab, to allow them to compare the product to the CB documents. After some bit of research, I can find no reference that explicitly requires samples. I expect that, as is common or Asia Pacific countries, the documentation available in English is a drop in the bucket compared to the sum of all relevant documents. Can anyone confirm whether or not samples are *required* for BSMI submittals? Regards, Peter L.
