We are looking for an energetic, self-driven senior Product Safety Engineer to work in a challenging environment. Duties: This individual will be responsible for the following: Independently participate with multiple project teams involved in the product design, planning, testing, and development of telecommunications products. Conduct board and system level safety analysis through review of schematics, PCB layout, and mechanical drawings. Understand, interpret and effectively apply worldwide safety requirements, conduct tests, prepare reports and obtain worldwide approvals. Interact with engineers and regulatory agencies to coordinate resolution of product design, test and approval issues. Mentor junior engineers, prepare and maintain test plans, test reports and related documents. Effectively manage multiple projects and priorities, develop general process guidelines and implement quality systems for departmental use. Qualifications: This qualified applicant must have the following skills: Have at least 7 years experience in supporting product development teams in product safety design and testing through to full certification. Be proficient in understanding and interpreting the safety requirements of EN60950, UL60950, CSA 60950, and related national deviations, especially as they relate to TNV circuit design and testing. Good analytical skills to resolve issues independently. The ability to track, manage and support multiple programs. Have good communication and people skills so as to effectively interact with other engineers, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional groups. Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 5-7 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 7-10+ yrs related experience.
