I need to try to resolve inconsistencies that I've noticed between different standards on the subject of temperature limits vs. temperature class. For example, I've seen Class H (180C) with a limit of 150C by thermocouple, and I've seen it with a limit of 155C by thermocouple. The rise-of-resistance or embedded thermocouple limits seem to also be different in some standards.
Question: Is there an IEC or EN that serves as a horizontal standard for temperature classes and their limits? Thanks, Jim Eichner, P.Eng.
