I doubt that you can be successful mitigating this emission problem with
capacitors on the twisted pairs to ground.  The capacitors are a low pass
filter.  I’m assuming your 4 twisted pairs are for 10/100/1000 BaseT.  The
35MHz noise is below the 125MHz that 100/1000 BaseT operates.  Any low pass
filter will start attenuating the Ethernet signals before it starts to
attenuate the 35MHz noise.  I believe you will need to look for an alternate
mitigation technique.

I have a twisted-pair Ethernet receive and a twisted-pair Ethernet transmit
set of 4 wires penetrating what would otherwise be a shielded box. Internal
box noise, as low as 35 MHz, is getting out along this path.

 

I put a 4700 pF feedthrough capacitor on each of the four lines. That worked
pretty well, so well that the Ethernet shut down. Does anyone have a guideline
about how much capacitance, L-L & L-G, that is typically OK?
