Pat, and everyone The dates of withdrawal associated with both amendments have been changed by CENELEC to 1 August 2007, to align with the dow associated with the unamended standard. The corrigendum to change these was issued by CENELEC in September 2005.
The dates of cessation of presumption of conformity (doc) are set by the Commission taking into account the CENELEC recommendation. A new list of standards including these changes was submitted to the Commission in November 2005, but has yet to be published in the Official Journal. There is a "lead time" associated with any publication. The doc will change to 1 August 2007 for both amendments when the new list is published. A new edition of EN 55022 will be published by national standards bodies in 2006, having already been ratified by the CENELEC Technical Board. This has only minor differences from CISPR 22 5th edition, and does not include the requirement to use ferrites introduced in A1 to the 1998 edition. I does not currently include requirements above 1 GHz. That amendment (=A1 to CISPR 22 5th ed) will be voted on shortly. These should be listed in the Official Journal in due course (in the case of A1, assuming a positive vote). In respect of the amendments to the 1998 edition, In my view, it would be unreasonable to expect manufacturers to have to apply an amendment for a limited period, which would then be not required until 2007 once the list is published. If you don't wish to apply the amendments in the meantime, I recommend that you document your reasoning based on the above information, in case of a challenge. I believe that this would be acceptable in the UK, but may not be so in some other Member States. The factual first four paragraphs are based on my knowledge as Secretary of CENELEC TC210 - EMC. The fifth is my personal view as a consultant. I hope this helps. Hi, I'm interested in the mandatory conformity dates (DOCOPOCOSS) for EN55022:1998 and its amendments. Although I have the list of harmonized standards for the EMC Directive (from October 2005), I can't figure it out. At one point, I had a link to a web page that itemized the dates, but I lost it.
